Horticulture Section Manager

Super Seasons is an Australian grower of premium Australian citrus fruit located in regional NSW. We require a full time, Horticulture Section Manager for Citrus which includes imperial mandarins, navels & Valencia oranges, grapefruit, lemons and tangelos. The position will be responsible for overseeing the harvest and produce packaged for transportation including splitting time working between the office, the field and the transportation of fruit. Additionally the applicant will be responsible for checking on the harvesting teams and the quality of the produce in the fields, organising orders, preparation of labels, produce transportation, and overseeing quality assurance and safe practice procedures are met.

The applicant should have at least a relevant Certificate or 3 years of full time work experience (at least 38 hours per week) within the citrus growing industry. The applicant must be committed to working in rural remote regional NSW.

Core tasks

  • Organising team and produce orders
  • Ensure a high standard of quality is upheld
  • Coordinating with contractors
  • Coordinating with purchasers
  • Working with harvest teams out in the field
  • Labelling and packaging for transportation
  • Coordinating trucks for pick up and deliveries
  • Work, health and safety
  • Ensure all records are maintained and citrus are labelled correctly
  • Assess quality of work and take corrective actions where applicable
  • Liaise with Farm Operations Manager/ Harvest Manager/Irrigation Manager along with the General Manager where required

-Irrigationist Assistant

Super Seasons is an Australian grower of premium Australian citrus fruit located in regional NSW. We require a full time, qualified Irrigation Assistant. The applicant will be responsible for overseeing the irrigation of certain citrus blocks located across the vast orchards of Rosemont and Talinga.

The applicant should have at least a relevant Certificate 2 or 3 years of full time work experience (at least 38 hours per week) within the citrus growing industry. The applicant must be committed to working in rural remote regional NSW.

The applicant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Determine and schedule irrigations based on weather conditions
  • Irrigate citrus trees as required
  • Assess soil moisture on a daily basis by undertaking orchard inspections
  • Assist in design and implementation of the irrigation program
  • Schedule irrigations
  • Install irrigation systems
  • Maintain pumping systems for irrigation
  • Daily maintenance of irrigation systems
  • Completing general tasks assisting others as required
  • Participate in staff development as requested or required
  • Inspect and report any maintenance required
  • Maintain irrigation diaries
  • Oversee staff and Work Health & Safety

-Motor Mechanic

Super Seasons is an Australian grower of premium Australian citrus fruit located in regional NSW. We require a full time, qualified Motor Mechanic. The applicant will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance schedule of all company vehicles and agricultural machinery and plant.

The applicant should have at least a relevant Trade Qualification and at least 2 years on the job of full time work experience (at least 38 hours per week) within the vehicle maintenance and repair industry. The applicant must be committed to working in rural remote regional NSW.

The applicant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts
  • dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
  • repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
  • performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
  • reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
  • testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
  • diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
  • may inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
  • Able to work across a range of agricultural machinery
